DIETRICH DESIGNED SHINGLE STYLE MASTERPIECE AVAILABLE IN SCRANTON'S HILL SECTION

One of the more interesting questions I have been asked at a Q&A following one of my presentations is whether there are ever any Dietrich designed homes for sale. If you have ever wanted to become the caretaker of one of Dietrich's most important Shingle style homes, that opportunity is now available in Scranton, PA. Designed by architect E. G. W. Dietrich in 1891, the David E. and Mary MacDougall Taylor house is on the market and seeking its next owners to make this magnificent example of the Shingle style their home. Located in Scranton's stately Hill Section on an oversized corner lot with lush landscaping, the home's original owner David E. Taylor was one of the founder's of the Globe Store, Scranton's former premier department store. The home has been lovingly restored and maintains many original architectural features including exterior stonework, interior woodwork, fireplace mantels, and a two story turret! The dining room features an inbuilt serving buffet designed by the architect.
